Vineyards

The vineyards are located in Kakheti region, on the left bank of Alazani Valley, on the slopes of the Caucasus Mountains, near rivers Lopota and Stori. The area is characterized by specific microclimate and is widely known for local grape varieties, especially Saperavi and Rkatsiteli.

The vineyards are 420-450 meters above the sea level. In total, it unites 12 hectares, on which are cultivated more than 40 wine grape varieties.

From them, in production are: 12 georgian: Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi, Khikhvi, Chitistvala, Kakhuri Mtsvivani, Tavkveri, Saperavi, Budeshuri Saperavi, Muscat Rkatsiteli (Tbilisuri), Grdzelmtevana, Mkhargrdzeli;

2 European: Montepulciano and Shiraz.

The rest grape varieties belong to the ampelographic plot and are presented in small quantities. They are mainly used for the production of experimental wines. If good result is achieved, the cultivation of concrete vines is conditioned in order to make it possible to produce and release more volumes of wine.
Producing of high-quality wine starts with proper soil care. The soil in vineyards is enriched only with organic fertilizers. From the beginning the vineyard is pruned in such a way that the horn remains in small quantities and, consequently, the limited number of buds gives a better quality grapes. This process gives the opportunity to receive the moderate crop and, on the other hand, is the first step in making high-quality wine.

The harvest mainly depends on the amount of precipitation and climatic conditions, the age of the vineyard and the grape varieties, the physiological maturity of which occurs at different times.
